Miles of magnificently varied coastline dominate this magical corner of Britain. Popular seaside resorts alternate with secluded coves and unspoilt fishing villages rich in maritime history. In contrast there are lush, exotic gardens and the wild terrain of moorland interior.

This is probably the biggest event in the Edinburgh calendar every year. For over 50 years the famous Edinburgh Castle esplanade has hosted the greatest show of massed pipes and drums of bands from around the world, joined by dancers, singers and performers of all descriptions. The magnificent backdrop of the castle creates an atmosphere like no where else as the light fades into evening and the air is filled with the excitement and sounds of this magnificent pageant. Edinburgh city is alive with the excitement of the Tattoo and throughout the day street performances provided by an array of artistes keep the visitor entertained in one of the world’s greatest cities.

Writers and artists have long been inspired by the beauty of County Donegal and its glorious coastline, golden beaches lakes and mountains, and the highest sea cliffs in Europe. The wonderful scenery of the Glens of Antrim and Giant’s Causeway and the famous Irish hospitality await us on this 6 day break.

Join us on a wonderful weekend to Scotland’s capital city.  Edinburgh is a wonderful combination of the old and new with stunning medieval and Georgian architecture balanced by an exciting choice of designer shopping and wonderful attractions and museums.  Visit the German Xmas market from Frankfurt, with a variety of stalls selling traditional German crafts and presents including stolen, lebkurchen, gluehwein, candles and Christmas decorations, set in Princes Gardens with the spectacular back drop of Edinburgh Castle.

Join us once again as we visit The Magical Christmas Markets of Holland and Germany, the perfect start to your festive season. The traditional stalls are lit by brightly coloured lights whilst the smell of gently roasting nuts and gluhwein fills the air. Our base for this year’s tour is the ancient Eiffel village of Monschau, where tall, narrow, half timbered houses are huddled together at one end of a winding gorge carved from the rock by the Rur River, with attractive cobbled streets. Monschau’s excellent Christmas market is in the centre of the town overlooking  the river.

Join us on this magical weekend of luxury and experience the joy of carols in The Royal Albert Hall. From chestnuts roasting on an open fire…. Back by popular demand we have once again arranged this wonderful New Year Break to the beautiful Rhine Valley. Our base for this tour is the excellent 4star Bell Vue Hotel in Boppard, probably one of our favourite hotels we have featured over the years. By day we explore the wonderful Rhine and Moselle Valleys lined with the many vineyards which make this area so popular, whilst at night we enjoy excellent food and entertainment. The Rhine valley has had a very ignoble past which has been etched into the countryside in the many castles that line the river banks. Today the river is a busy waterway and the towns and villages lining the banks are a peaceful picturesque haven.
